Before you purchase your hotel stay, you should consider these 5 channels:
- From the Hotel directly
- If you have credit card that is co-branded with the same hotel, for example, Amex Hilton Honors for Hilton, you can earn better points than other cards.
- In the past, there was one time offer where we earned one night stay after spending $1000, on top of the regular points. We redeemed the stay in Conrad Tokyo which cost at least $500 a night.
- If you don't have such card, look at Amex card offers. Below are the current offers that I have right now from Blue Cash Everyday Card , Amex Everyday and Hilton Honors
- Chase is now copying Amex offer features but do not have much offers right now.
- Booking.com
- Once you reach to higher status in their 'Genius Loyalty Program', you can get better pricing (10-15% off) than those who do not have status. Below are more detail.
- Often times, Booking.com also mail offers. We took advantage of these offers (e.g., $100 off $400) when planning for our holiday.
- T-mobile
- If you are a T-mobile customers, be sure to check for T-mobile Tuesday as they often give out discount on hotel stay via Booking.com or Hotel.com.
- Cash Back Program
- Don't forget to use Rakuten (formerly Ebates) and Mr Rebates to get additional cash back.
- Airbnb
- Unless you can obtain promo code, your best bet is to look at Amex or Chase offers as it often show up with better cash back option.
